    Just Another Day

By Sonya Ochshorn

A hurricane is not so bad
Why do people get so sad?
They’re just some wind, a lot of rain
Still that’s all it is, a hurricane.

Swirling tornados could be worse.
You could be starved with a great thirst
A gravity defying wind,
Just make sure you avoid getting pinned.

An earthquakes just a little shake
I don’t know why people make
A big deal out of things so small
So what if a few sky scrappers fall.

Volcanoes are rather boring
Actually they’re annoying
They block the roads, get in the way.
But really, it’s just another day.

    Wind

By Sonya Ochshorn

Spiraling leaves
Curls define
The way she perceives.
As trees entwine.

Glides over grass
High and low
Flowers fly past
Winds never show.

Swept over hair
Black as ink
Doll held with care
Cheeks, stained pink.

Spiraling leaves
Curls define
The way she perceives.
As trees tntwine.

    The Singing Bear

By Sonya Ochshorn
“Isn’t it funny… a bear likes honey?”
Sings the bear while scaling the honey tree.
long climb but it is blue and sunny
Danger ahead this journey ends with bees
tubby little brown bear filled with fluff
He walks and sings along “tiddely-pom”
Stuck in doors, eats honey till its enough.
All the while he rhymes and sings his song
Hums the tune through the hundred acre wood
“Tra-la-la-la,… Rum-Tum-tiddle-um-tum”
Wish I could go there if only I could.
help catch a Woozle or a Heffalum…
Kanga, Eeyor, Roo, Owl, and Tigger too
Piglet, Christopher and his best friend Pooh.
